Mobile, yet not so mobile

Was watching TV during dinner. One of the channels had a documentary on Mobile phones and their role in the year 2005. I made note of some interesting facts on these devices. And they are:

1.Women are the fastest in SMSing & dialling numbers

2.SMS will be replaced with video messaging.

3.Play virtual video games with users all over the world, open car doors, TV remote and access the internet.

4.Mobiles phones can now be used to pay for almost all major transcation from wending machines to grocery to booking flight tickets.

5.They can locate a restaurant that has your favourite food item while you are in that neighbourhood

6.They can identify a potential partner/date by sending a "beep" to each others phone (total strangers, mind you) if the both of you happen to be within 500m of each other. You will have to look around till you spot the other person with the "beep".

I personally enjoy going out and doing some of the "boring" jobs like train/flight ticket booking, roaming the streets to find a restaurant to try out new food and spending almost a life time to find that ideal partner with poems, roses and restaurants. These little iniatives not only help in personal growth but also provides a lot of topics to blog. He he..anyway..if this is progress, then I see a lot of Zombies doing everything from their home with very little need to get out and meet people.

and oh, by the way,i dont think its new news or anything, but anyways..in japan...they have libraries that u can access thru your mobile, so bottomline is that u can read books on your mobile by accessing e-libraries.

i thnk they are also working to enable reading without having to connect to the net, all the time..for the same purpose.

cheers!
