I am a great fan of Manoj Night Shyamalan. Not just because we share the same first name ..but because I love his work. I like the way he plays around with varied human emotions like love, care, curiosity, sadness, glee, boredom, stupidity all placed on a platform called FEAR. This fear is extrapolated to each character and their surroundings. You question everything that you see on screen in your attempt to understand the ending. He did that brilliantly in The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs and the movie that i just watched THE VILLAGE.
i dont care what the critics say..but i thoroughly enjoyed it. Here i believe he dealt with the issue of fear again. Everything in the movie was a metaphor. Fear was represented as the monster, curiosity with the guy who wanted to go the next town, attacking and overcoming fear was represented by the blind girl. Even the handicap was a metaphor. The village symbolized our very own attempt to stay away from harm.
what do you think abt the movie and its message?
